Ed: So, "believe all women" is dead, and now it's ... what? Believe all Democrats? This isn't just a semantic exercise, because as Mark Judge pointed out earlier, Swalwell helped lead the virtual lynch mob that targeted Brett Kavanaugh on far flimsier allegations than Swalwell now faces. And not all of the allegations are anonymous, either.

===

CNN: A former staffer of Rep. Eric Swalwell, a leading Democratic candidate for California governor, says that the congressman raped her when she was heavily intoxicated and left her bruised and bleeding, an allegation Swalwell strongly denies. ...

Three other women who spoke with CNN also alleged various kinds of sexual misconduct by the Democratic congressman – including Swalwell sending them unsolicited explicit messages or nude photos.

One woman who connected online with Swalwell over her interest in Democratic politics says she ended up extremely drunk inside his hotel room after a night out with the congressman, with little memory of what occurred. Earlier in the night at a bar, he kissed her and touched her leg without her consent, she said.

Another woman, who described receiving unsolicited nude messages from Swalwell, was social media creator Ally Sammarco.

Ed: At least one of the women has put her name on the allegations. That doesn't mean that the allegations are proven, of course, but Democrats have insisted on treating such allegations as proven when aimed at Republicans. And that includes Swalwell.

Ed: Gee, social media history is a beeyotch, ain't it?

Politico: House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and former Speaker Nancy Pelosi headlined a growing list of Democratic lawmakers called on Rep. Eric Swalwell Friday to withdraw his campaign for California governor amid allegations of sexual misconduct.

“This extremely sensitive matter must be appropriately investigated with full transparency and accountability,” Pelosi said in a statement. “As I discussed with Congressman Swalwell, it is clear that is best done outside of a gubernatorial campaign.”

In a joint statement with other elected House Democratic leaders, Jeffries called for a “swift investigation” as well as the end of his pending campaign.

Ed: I don't mean to be too critical of what amounts to a responsible position. However, would these same people have demanded Swalwell's withdrawal after the primary, had he made it onto the general-election ballot? Against a Republican? I wonder. I also wonder about the timing of this bombshell in a race where so many Democrats were splitting the primary vote that the general election ballot may have had two Republicans and no Democrats.

===

Ed: Let me offer a mildly oppositional view here. Swalwell got elected to that office, and it should be up to the voters to boot him out. The alternative would be to have the House act to remove him through its Ethics Committee. In fairness, Swalwell has not been proven guilty of anything yet and should get due process before being removed from public office. He hasn't even won a primary yet in California's gubernatorial race, so it's more reasonable to demand he step aside. Still, this creep should resign on his own, and Democrats shouldn't be quite so pedantic about saying so.

John Schindler at Top Secret Umbra: If the coordinated Democrat push to dump Swalwell, a full-spectrum op across media, looks anything but spontaneous, that’s because it’s not. Democrats have known for years about Swalwell’s notorious zipper problems and his rivals have been waiting for the right moment to pounce, compiling thick oppo files to dump, as they now have. If Swalwell doesn’t bow out of public life now, more and worse allegations against him are inbound. Still, many are acting surprised that Swalwell turns out to be a horrible human being.

You know who’s not surprised? Subscribers to Top Secret Umbra.

In January of this year, as part of my Intelligence Community Confidential series, I dropped an old-school blind-item about the Congressman. I decided not to name him publicly, given Swalwell’s litigiousness – like Donald Trump he makes everyone around him sign NDAs while pursuing legal action against anyone who dares to question him – but anybody awake had no trouble deciphering my plain hints[.]

Ed: Read it all. The big question is why Democrats kept Swalwell on the intel committee at all after the Christine Fang scandal exposed his "zipper problem," as John puts it. That itself is a scandal that Democrats have yet to address, let alone his apparently widely known predation on younger women. Chinese intelligence certainly knew it well enough to exploit Swalwell.

Ed: I can't think of two politicians more deserving of being yoked together on "values" than Schiff and Swalwell. Bear in mind that Swalwell's affair with Fang had been known for years at this point, and apparently so had his "zipper problem" among Capitol Hill denizens. Having serial liar Schiff vouch for Swalwell's "values" almost qualifies as performance art.

Newsweek: U.S. Representative Eric Swalwell’s campaign for California governor was reeling Friday as multiple senior aides abruptly resigned and the Democrat lost key endorsements following new allegations that he sexually assaulted a former staffer—accusations that Swalwell has forcefully denied.

According to Politico, at least four people have departed Swalwell’s gubernatorial campaign in recent days, including Courtni Pugh, strategic adviser who served as the campaign’s top liaison to organized labor groups. Pugh confirmed her resignation to the outlet but declined to comment further. Two other people familiar with internal campaign discussions spoke on condition of anonymity to describe the departures. ...

The campaign shake‑up and mass of lost endorsements follow a report by the San Francisco Chronicle that a former staffer accused Swalwell of having sexual encounters with her while she worked for him and of sexually assaulting her twice when she was too intoxicated to consent. The woman was not publicly identified.

Ed: Are we to believe that these campaign workers and endorsers only just discovered Swalwell's "zipper problem"? Or is something else happening?

If the CA polling did not look the way it did, none of this would be happening.

Ed: Yes, this smells. It doesn't mean Swalwell's innocent. But if he's guilty and everyone knew enough about his "zipper problem" to exploit it now for electoral advantage, then every Democrat using it has been complicit in it. Twenty years ago, the Mark Foley scandal blew up any Republican midterm hopes in George W. Bush's second term. Of course, Democrats got a lot of help from the Protection Racket Media in hyping up the (real and embarrassing) scandal. Will they play fair this time around or cover up the rot among Democrats? I know which way I'm betting.

In 2014, the Obama Administration granted visas to her son and his family to enter the United States. In June 2016, the Obama Administration gave them lawful permanent resident status via the Diversity Immigrant Visa Program.

This week, I terminated their lawful permanent resident status and today, Seyed Eissa Hashemi, Maryam Tahmasebi, and their son are now in the custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement pending their removal from our country.

Her family should never have been allowed to benefit from the extraordinary privilege of living in our country.

America can never become home for anti-American terrorists or their families - and under the Trump Administration, it never will.

... like thousands of Iranians in America, and says he plans to go back.

That’s not just misleading. It’s a big lie because he stayed. He benefited. And he represents something very different.

There is NO comparison between the children of regime insiders living freely in the West…

and Iranian students and professionals who fled repression, risked everything, and are victims of the same regime, I hope the US hear their voices and protect the victims while revoking the visa of the children of Islamic Republic, who support terror.

I asked the Biden administration to investigate these networks, just as they investigated Vladimir Putin’s inner circle but No action.

Thank you @SecRubio  for finally hearing the voice of Iranians.

Ed: And the voices of Americans who still recall Ebtekar's mouthpiecing for terrorism and war against the US in 1979. Like me.
