If Rosie O'Donnell Really Wants to Support Free Speech ...

Rosie O'Donnell is back ... and we didn't miss her.

The poster child for Trump Derangement Syndrome fled the country for Ireland at the dawn of the president's second term. And, sadly for her, President Trump has yet to make good on any of those Hitler-esque actions she predicted.

He's likely waiting for his final two years in office, like most Hitlers do.

O'Donnell is a near-constant presence in the media of late. She even just wrapped a one-woman show on Broadway. She might have gotten lucky, though. Advertising where she'll be on any given night could have given Hitler 2.0 some ideas.

Right?

Now, Variety is schmoozing O'Donnell on a number of topics, including her guest hosting chores this week on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" That gave her the chance to play the First Amendment Card, the one that she and her fellow liberals couldn't find as the woke mind virus attacked comedy, speech, social media platforms and so much more.

Here's what O'Donnell had to say about her unlikely freelance gig and its greater implications.

I support [Kimmel] in what he’s doing with the First Amendment, and our ability as entertainers and citizens to speak out against our government that’s enshrined in the Founding Fathers’ writings about our government, so I think he’s fantastic...And I wish that Stephen Colbert had the same kind of support when it happened to him, because he shouldn’t be gone either.

Let's look past the obvious misinformation (no small feat).

O'Donnell has a perfect way to defend free speech this week. We just learned that two WNBA ticket holders were told to cover up their shirts by arena officials.

Why? Their shirts bore the XX-XY Athletics brand. That's Jennifer Sey's clothing line that supports keeping trans athletes from competing against biological women.

Their free speech rights were clearly infringed upon, not by the government but an arena that would never censor the other side of this debate.

What about it, Rosie? Why not invite that mother and daughter on your show and give them the platform they deserve. You don't even have to agree with them, but it would be stunning and brave to support other women, no?

That's not the only potential guest who would make "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" crackle with energy. Why not invite M.I.A. onto your ABC platform? The British singer got fired for sharing one right-leaning lecture from a concert stage. The show's headliner, Kid Cudi, swiftly cut her from the tour. She's currently suing him as a result.

Heck, make the show a free speech jamboree all week long.

That's what this is all about, right? It's not a partisan issue but a true attempt to defend speech in the good ol' USA. Except O'Donnell will likely ignore these free speech issues and grab the first flight back to Ireland once her Kimmel duties wrap.

The betting odds say she'll never give that WNBA mother-daughter duo a second thought. Nor a first.
