In August one year ago, an 18th century vampire ordered the house arrest of the desperately ill (the effects of being stabbed in the stomach after a 2018 assassination attempt) and tremendously popular former president of Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro.
Well, okay. You could be forgiven for thinking it was a Lestat doppelganger, when it was, in fact, one of the most corrupt human beings on earth (per Michael Schellenberger), and a Brazilian Supreme Court justice, appropriately named Alexandre de Moraes.
And swoosh.
Alexandre de Moraes, the man attempting to ban 𝕏 in Brazil. https://t.co/PJua4pWveX
— Creepy.org (@creepydotorg) April 8, 2024
All over Bolsonaro's claim that his 2022 loss to lunatic leftist Lula da Silva had been rigged. De Moraes was turning those claims, which looked ever more verifiable by the day, not to mention that, when coupled with Bolsonaro's climbing popularity and Lula's nosediving appeal, represented a threat to the socialist cozy state of affairs, into a case against the former president for 'overthrowing the government.'
From his hospital bed.
The next month, September 2025, de Moraes held his own little Supreme Court tribunal to try Bolsonaro on those charges, with none other than de Moraes as presiding judge. As if that weren't bad enough, this kangaroo court excluded the other Supreme Court justices and, as one of them noted in his dissent, the entire state Senate, as required by their Constitution.
To everyone's horror, this clown court went ahead, found Bolsonaro guilty, sentenced the former president to 27 years, and Lula's henchman packed their worst problem off to prison.
@EricLDaugh This was supposed to happen to Trump. Same playbook. These people are demons.

In January of this year, Jair Bolsonaro was transferred to the Federal District's 19th Military Police Battalion at the Papuda Penitentiary Complex to begin his sentence, but by March he was back in an ICU with bacterial pneumonia. De Moraes, for whatever reason, allowed the former president to recover at home under house arrest, with no visitors other than family members and his legal team and no electronic devices. De Moraes has, so far, extended that courtesy, while insisting he would soon return Jair Bolsonaro to the Big House.
The sudden dollop of humanity the judge evinced could well have been a calculated effort not to inflame the Brazilian people any further against the Lula regime, as campaigning for presidential rounds of elections was once again underway.
Self-preservation is a refined skill in brutalist Lefty political circles.
Yesterday was the day Brazilians went to the polls for the first round, and...oh, my.
It could easily be termed a BOLSONAROPALOOZA.
@IAPolls2022 Lula was supposed to win the 1st round. This is huge for Bolsonaro.

That Bolsonaro isn't the former president, though, but his son, Flávio.
OUCH, huh?
This is delicious.
BREAKING: Flavio Bolsonaro has defeated Brazilian President Lula da Silva in the first round of Brazil’s presidential election. Bolsonaro received 47.3% of the vote, compared to 44.8% for Lula, with 98% of votes counted. Neither candidate reached the 50% threshold needed to win outright, sending the election to an October 25th runoff. This marks marking Lula’s first presidential election defeat since 1998.

...Neither candidate reached the 50% threshold needed to win outright, sending the election to an October 25th runoff.
This marks marking Lula’s first presidential election defeat since 1998.
But that wasn't the end of it. There were Bolsonaros all over the ballots, including Jair's wife and his other children.
AND THEY WON, TOO
Jair Bolsonaro's wife, Michelle: elected Senator tonight. Jair Bolsonaro's son, Carlos: elected Senator. Jair Bolsonaro's other son, Renan: elected Congressman. Jair Bolsonaro's other son, Flavio, currently a Senator: ahead of Lula, headed toward a run-off for President. Jair Bolsonaro's other son, Eduardo: leaving Congress, in the US, facing arrest and imprisonment if he returns. Jair Bolsonaro: imprisoned at home for 28 years.

The Right swept both legislative houses.

Not only did Flavio win the elections in Brazil (falling just one step short of winning in the runoff) The right swept at the legislative level.
Of 513 seats in the lower house, Bolsonaro is going to have 246, and of 81 seats in the Senate, Bolsonaro is going to have 49. Never has the right had so much support in Brazil.
One aspect of the shift in control of the Senate?
They are the ones who are empowered to impeach Supreme Court judges.
In addition to the obvious 900-pound vindictive vampire in the room, they have also been embroiled in a huge bank scandal.
...The Senate race carries particular weight this year. Beyond its role in passing legislation, the upper house has the constitutional authority to try Supreme Court justices in impeachment proceedings, giving its new composition added significance at a time of heightened tensions surrounding the court.
Those tensions have intensified amid scrutiny of Supreme Court justices’ ties to Daniel Vorcaro, the owner of Banco Master, a midsized lender at the center of a nationwide corruption investigation. The controversy has fueled divisions within the court and spilled into the presidential campaign.
The former Nicaraguan ambassador, Arturo McFields Yescas, says this election 'marks the end of twenty-first-century socialist leftism.'
— Arturo McFields Yescas (@ArturoMcfields) October 5, 2026
It wasn't a choice; it was a thrashing. Lula suffered an unprecedented defeat—he lost the Senate, Congress, the governorships, the small mayoral races, and if Flavio Bolsonaro wins the second round, he'll be able to appoint four justices to the court. This election marks the grave of twenty-first-century socialist leftism.
Now, don't think Lula and his undead Supreme Court bagman are done.

BREAKING NEWS: Behind the scenes, Panic grips STF Ministers after PL sweeps the Senate and Flávio Bolsonaro takes the lead over Lula.
They're busy setting up an election-interference case so they can claim Flavio Bolsonaro 'stole the election' if he wins the run-off on October 25.
Always thinking, these guys.
🇧🇷🇺🇸 It’s official: Lula’s Federal Police have now placed the United States under investigation. The narrative is setting the stage so that, in the event of a @FlavioBolsonaro victory, the election can be annulled under the pretext of “foreign interference.” And this is happening even without USAID money pouring into Brazil, without the CIA director and other senior U.S. officials coming to Brazil to pressure Brazilian authorities. In other words, without anything resembling what already happened with the Biden Administration’s support for Lula in 2022.

In other words, without anything resembling what already happened with the Biden Administration’s support for Lula in 2022.
But Lula and company no longer have access to that USAID money to buy them what they need, and look where they are right now.
What you're watching is the first election in 6 years where Lula no longer has tens of millions of dollars of USAID operation money propping up him and his allies.
— Mike Benz (@MikeBenzCyber) October 4, 2026
Just as the other strongmen in South and Central America have found out in a year's time, I don't think they have the brains or the assets to pull this off without those big fat USAID checks being there for them anymore.
When forced to stand on their own accomplishments, they have fallen like dominoes, one after the other.
(And remember, in Latin America, the colors are reversed - blue is conservative, red is leftist/communist)
LATAM PRE MILEI //// LATAM POST MILEI (Si se confirma en el ballotage la elección de Bolsonaro!) Soplan vientos de cambio en el continente. https://t.co/uDxtFOasz5
— Adrian Ravier (@AdrianRavier) October 5, 2026
(If Bolsonaro's election is confirmed in the runoff!)
Winds of change are blowing across the continent.
The markets are reflecting pretty strong support for the voice of the Brazilian people and the analysts' belief that Flavio Bolsonaro will make efforts to continue the economic reforms his father started should he triumph at the end of the month.
“An increased likelihood of a change in government, together with the composition of the new congress, raises the probability of a credible fiscal anchor: a binding spending rule, reform of mandatory expenditures and indexation mechanisms, and a primary surplus path that markets can trust”, analysts led by Alejo Czerwonko wrote in a report. There is room for both nominal and real yields to decline, led by the intermediate segment of the curve, while the bank sees the real closer to the “fair value” of 5.10. If the fiscal scenario is confirmed, UBS see an upside of more than 30% for the Ibovespa index over the coming months.
And in a note to California and Arizona, Brazil counted all 125,275,835 votes in about four hours.
Brazil counted 125 million votes the same day. Trump pointed at it. Results right after the polls closed. Detroit, Philly, and California still need weeks to “calculate” smaller numbers. If a country that size can finish overnight, we can too. Same-day results. No more excuses.

Just the strangest thing: how the most expensive state can't do the simplest things.
In any event, Bolsonaro and crew are said to be huddling over how to proceed through the next three weeks.
I hope they can keep him safe to get through it.
Where oh where is my USAID now? Where oh Where can it be? https://t.co/uMkcXaRmLG

HEH
Oh, I can't wait for the housecleaning to start.
