Could Ukraine Please Give Back Some of the BoomBoom and PewPew Stuff POTATUS Sent Them?

I remember a conversation some years ago, when the handlers for the vegetable in the White House, aka POTATUS, were scouring U.S. weapons inventories for anything they could pack up and send to Ukraine.

Near the end of March 2023 (!) I wrote a piece titled:

Asking for a friend - were we supposed to be giving Ukraine ALL our money and weapons?

At that point, we were on our 34th - THIRTYFOURTH!!! - weapons, aka 'Presidential' drawdown to pack embark and CONEX boxes chock full of war goodies for Kyiv and the Ukrainian effort.

If you click through that post, you will see two of the weapons and equipment shipment lists (for the 29th and 34th) and perhaps why I was so concerned. 

Because honest to goodness, it sure seems like we’re doing both and at a cyclic rate.

Monies upon monies. It’s not like we’re in any money trouble ourselves, but the clowns at the Treasury and Fed will just keep printing what Biden needs to cover his butt.

When it comes to ammo and equipment, that’s a horse of a different color entirely. Those have to be procured and manufactured – two things we have sincere difficulties with these days.

...That’s all real stuff, two months ago. Real assets not fluttering on a money tree. We are now, as of today, up to our 34th drawdown. It’s like Biden thinks the DoD is his personal pew-pew/BOOM-BOOM version of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve or something. A cookie jar to be raided and raided.

Another reason I was having an absolute cow is that not only had we started imperiling what was available at hand in CONUS, but the lackeys running the autopen had Lloyd Austin's minions digging through our strategic stores stationed across the globe for anything that wasn't nailed down.

No one knew at the time that the U.S. was doing that, and, for the love of all that was holy - we weren't replacing what we were sending Sweater Boy and his troops.

Biden wasn't spooling up defense contracting. He was giving away the literal defense store.

...And now we’re scrambling to send them more, while still not replacing what we would need in the event of a conflict.

Ukraine’s insatiable demand for artillery has for months outpaced Western forecasts, setting off a global hunt for more ammunition and forcing the U.S. to raid its stocks abroad to help Kyiv prepare for its counteroffensive later in the spring.

With some U.S. allies unwilling or unable to supply enough ammunition for Ukraine, the U.S. military is pulling from its munition supplies in a number of locations, including in Israel, South Korea, Germany and Kuwait. These sites, known as prepositioned stocks, are where the U.S. stores everything from trucks to bandages to support American forces around the world.

The first drawdown of munitions from these sites was late last year, U.S. and congressional officials said.

The pressure on the U.S. to take more ammunition from its overseas stocks comes as some of Washington’s allies with the biggest stores of artillery rounds have shied away from supplying Ukraine for fear of being seen by Russia as a party to the fight in Ukraine.

Of course, the Ukrainian advocates accused me of being a RUSSIAN SYMPATHIZER or simply a dupe who didn't know what she was talking about, because as one Expert™ wag in the comments told me, these were all 'surplus.' 

There is no such thing as surplus weapons stores, 'surplus' munitions, particularly when what you are gladhanding out are supplies for systems in use at the moment. PARTICULARLY, when the replacements for those supposedly 'surplus' stores can no longer be manufactured in an expedient and timely manner, God forbid WE needed them at some point.

 You know, us? The United States?

But I was the literal bad guy for throwing a 'stop giving away the store NOW' BS flag.

Now, do take this breaking Reuters report with a grain of salt, but not the whole shaker, because it points out an obvious danger and a serious problem, although one not of this administration's making.

The ATACMS missile situation? Directly attributable to our stockpiles being sent to the Ukrainians...'quietly.'

The United States in recent weeks secretly shipped long-range missiles to Ukraine for use in its battle to fight off Russian invaders, and Ukraine has now used them twice, a U.S. official said on Wednesday.

The missiles were contained in a $300 million military aid package for Ukraine that U.S. President Joe Biden approved on March 12, said the U.S. official, speaking on condition of anonymity. The official would not say how many of the missiles were sent.

White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan, at a briefing for reporters, confirmed that a "significant number" of the missiles had been sent to Ukraine and said "we will send more."

He said Ukraine has committed to only use the weapons inside Ukraine, not in Russia.

Some of the missiles were contained in a $1 billion weapons package for Ukraine that President Joe Biden approved on Wednesday, Sullivan said.

Good old Snake Sullivan. Listen to that miserable, mendacious slimeball as he hands away our national security: 'We will send more.'

Lockheed can make 500 a year in Arkansas. They won't say how many the Biden administration shipped to Ukraine.

And what a joke - the vegetative president 'accepted the UNANIMOUS decision of his ADVISERS.' Sure he did.

Biden did as he was told...or was told he had already done it. Same-same.

...In late January the U.S. military found a way to satisfy their concerns about military readiness, which enabled the administration to move forward. They began acquiring new missiles coming off the Lockheed-Martin (LMT.N), opens new tab production line.

Biden met with his national security team in mid-February and agreed to accept the unanimous recommendation of his advisers to send the missiles to Ukraine. Involved in the discussion were national security adviser Jake Sullivan, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman C.Q. Brown.

The challenge at that point was to figure out how to pay for the missiles. The United States had exhausted all of its funding options and congressional gridlock stymied further aid.

An opportunity arose in March, when several Pentagon contracts came in under bid. Biden was able to use the difference to send $300 million in assistance to Ukraine.

And POTATUS said to keep it all a secret, don't you know. He wanted it to be a surprise!

...Biden told his team to include the long-range ATACMS in this funding package, but to do so secretly in order to maintain operational security and the element of surprise for Ukraine, the official said.

OMG, this makes me puke, even more so after hearing the Hur tapes.

I want Sullivan, Austin, Winken Blinken - all of the co-conspirators strung up by their thumbs. 

And do we now understand why Hegseth and Trump dumped 'the black man,' Gen. C. Q. Brown, who was smack dab in the middle of this as the Joint Chiefs Chair? It was never the color of his skin, but the questionable color of his heart as part and parcel of this cabal.

The Biden team was happily and recklessly blowing through American assets at will. The whole 'surplus' story was only for gullible fools and hardcore Ukrainiacs who would accept any excuse to keep feeding that conflict with our national treasure and security stockpiles.

And it was evident to actual military analysts by 2024, besides myself. I only play one here at HotAir

...Regardless of the merits or demerits of the Biden administration’s policies on the wars in Ukraine and Gaza and the wider Middle East, it has become clear that the United States has been using and giving away its missiles faster than it can produce them.

It is also clear that from the perspective of missile inventories and production, the United States is far from prepared to engage confidently in a sustained direct conflict with a peer competitor like China.

This is demonstrated by the fact that U.S. missile and artillery shell reserves are currently inadequate to provide Ukraine with what it needs to keep its missile defense systems supplied with interceptors. Indeed, the inability of the United States and its NATO allies to provide enough air defense missiles — a.k.a. interceptors — has made it easier for Russia to attack and destroy key military targets, as well as cripple Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.

This missile deficit parallels the well-documented lack of U.S. artillery shell production that has enabled Russia to increase the rate at which it’s taking control over territories in Ukraine today.

While the United States is not going to run out of missiles tomorrow, its missile inventory, both offensive and defensive, is dwindling. Further, although the U.S. government has not disclosed how many interceptor missiles have been given to Ukraine to supply the billions of dollars’ worth of NASAM, Hawk, and Patriot air defense systems Washington sent there, we do know that it has not been enough.

We also know that between Lockheed Martin and Raytheon, some 740 Patriot PAC-2/PAC-3 missiles per year will be made in 2025, with production theoretically ramping up to roughly 1,100 missiles by 2027. That sounds like a lot, but since February 22, 2022, Ukraine has faced attacks from thousands of drones and missiles.

We had not been producing replacements for what we sent Ukraine, but producing to continue sending replacements to Ukraine, while keeping the barest minimum here, because, well...things were quiet.

Arrogant fools always think they'll stay that way and that they can just poop shells and missiles from trees like they do money.

The retards in the comments show the lack of understanding of how logistics works. And the fact that all these ‘smart’ everything cost considerably more per unit and cannot be replaced at near the pace of older simpler technologies.

So here we are. Of course Hegseth is duty-bound to say it's a dirty lie - which he is - and much of it could well be a calculated red herring.

But the fact of the matter stands as it did when I wrote that article a little over three years ago. This is yet another instance in which the unholy, unelected cabal that ran the White House for four years through an autopen and staged 'proof of life' appearances of a barely animated corpse has done inestimable damage to our national security.

I hope the estimates are wrong by a significant factor, but the hope in my heart and the yoicks in my gut aren't agreeing.

What needs to happen is a resolution in Iran, and fast, alongside a manufacturing spool-up of nearly WWII or GW1 proportions.

And don't send anyone else another damn thing.
