Ceuta Invasion Forces Being Coordinated in FB Groups

...THIS IS VERY SERIOUS. I'm receiving these images of how Moroccan authorities are emptying trucks full of young people near the border with Ceuta. 

Anyone who doesn't want to see that this is a perfectly orchestrated operation by the regime is simply blind.

The Moroccan government is up to their eyeballs in this transportation effort, ensuring that all the young men who have no hope in their country and would like a free ticket to Europe get a free ticket to European soil as a gesture of Moroccan goodwill and goodbye.

Thousands of military-age men were brought in trucks to the Moroccan-Spanish border in Ceuta. Most of them freed criminals pardoned by the king yesterday!

David's post this morning has some pretty ghastly pictures of the incoming flood of culturally diverse human beings making their way into the tiny Spanish province, isolated along the northern African coastline. There are only about 85,000 residents of Ceuta, and some estimates are that nearly three-quarters of that number of Moroccan (and God knows what else) refugees, almost exclusively male, have already arrived inside the walls.

Eight hours ago - eight - Reuters' best guess was nearly fifty thousand.

Just so you know, and I want to be fair and air all the lunatic theories out here - according to the Hamas wing of the Progressive movement, this is a coordinated plot between the Moroccans and Israel to punish the Spanish for supporting Palestine.

There is so much misinformation being spread about what’s actually happening in Spain:

1) Migrants are not swimming or taking boats to Spain’s mainland. Ceuta is a Spanish enclave on Morocco’s northern coast.

...Morocco’s government aligns with Israel and the US, so these efforts most likely aim to punish Spain for supporting Palestine and opposing the US and Israel’s war against Iran.

See? Sick in the head people like this are why we can't have nice things, although the map he has is helpful in two ways - it gives you both a visual for placing precisely where Ceuta is located on the north shore of Africa, and just what a tiny little, vulnerable spot it is.

The other reason Western civilization is going to hell in a handbasket?

AWFLs.

And well he might have flashbacks, as our magnificent Data Republican has gone to work and her initial findings have turned up some of the very same non-governmental organizations (NGO) that enabled millions of illegal aliens to cross into our country are involved in this assault on the Spanish area.

And is busy breaking into the web of related groups that are coordinating the arrivals. The invaders are instructed to wait for a ferry to mainland Spain, where they then apply for asylum. They do not begin any paperwork while in Ceuta.

She believes the Spanish are going to haul them all - without questions - to the mainland. In the meantime, the five Facebook groups she flagged have been closed. Those alone had over 230,000 members.

IMO, the most likely resolution is that Spain will punt on confrontation altogether by simply sending more ferries and hauling them all up to mainland.

As to Melugin's case of deja vu, one of the groups coordinating the North African invasion of Ceuta is the International Organization for Migration (IOM), a United Nations agency that in 2024 got $1.5 BILLION  in U.S. taxpayer money to 'assist' at the Southern border.

I'm delighted to announce that, when I went looking for our contribution to this august agency for the last two coincidentally Trump years, the IOM turns out to be neither so flush with cash nor all up in our business, flooding the country with illegal aliens.

This article is one big WAAH.

On March 18, 2025, the IOM issued a statement announcing the lay-off of 6,000 staff members of the almost 22,000 staff who were working for the IOM by the end of 2024 following ‘a major decrease of US funding worldwide’ (a 30% reduction of its budget). This includes 20% of the Geneva-based headquarter staff, as well as 3,000 employees in charge of the refugee resettlement program to the United States (dismantled by the Trump administration). Aside from budgetary issues, and like many other organisations, the IOM is also scrubbing its website from references to issues like gender-based violence or reproductive rights.  

These developments are not isolated. UNHCR has also been reported to envisage cuts of up to 6,000 workers, and the whole humanitarian sector is shaken by the reduction of the USAID budget. The Trump administration also sent several UN agencies a questionnaire about their projects, in a move that could lead to further funding cuts. We may therefore witness the first steps of a durable crisis, which will affect not only the budget of international organizations, but also their mandate - and multilateralism at large. 

For the IOM, this is particularly troubling because it has maintained close ties to the US ever since its creation in 1951. At the time, the US feared communist influence inside the UN and established IOM as a counterweight to UNHCR. The IOM has managed to conciliate this US dependence with an expansion of its mandate, for instance by welcoming more member states (including Russia and China, in 2016 and 2021 respectively) and by joining the UN in 2016. It is now at the heart of global migration governance, notably as the leading agency in the UN Migration Network and the implementation of the 2018 Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Responsible Migration. But budget-wise, the US remains the principal donor. 

The first Trump presidency had already created some tensions. In 2017, after Trump’s Executive Order entitled ‘Protecting the Nation From Foreign Terrorist Entry Into the United States’ (also known as the ‘Muslim Ban’), the IOM and the UNHCR issued a statement to criticize the reduction of the US refugee resettlement program. The IOM also opposed the decision to construct a wall at the US-Mexico border. And in 2018, the Trump-backed candidate, Ken Isaacs, lost IOM’s directorship to Antonio Vitorino - making it only the second time in the organisation’s history that a non-American occupied this position. Also, in 2018, the US was among the key states that withdrew from the IOM-coordinated negotiations over the Global Compact.

...In February 2025, the IOM appointed Michele Sison, a senior diplomat from the State Department, at its Washington office, in a move to reset its relationships with the American government. But the path is narrow: the harsher the Trump administration, the more difficult it will be for the IOM to conciliate its financial and political dependency upon the US with its obligations to all UN member states.  

Whether it can resist doing the dirty work for its richest and most powerful member-states is a question that pervades the whole history of the IOM – and that will certainly make for renew and acute dilemmas in the four years to come.

But it also goes to show you what the world is up against when NGOs are the ones driving the invasions.
