Germany's CSD Association, the organizers of the Berlin Pride event that was cut short by a terror attack on Saturday, pledged not to be suppressed by violence.
The organization said that both "right-wing and religious ideologies aim to oppress queer people."
"Behind such violence lies an attempt to divide our society and pit people against one another,” they said in a statement. "We will not allow that to happen."
Queers for Palestine springs to mind, and there were those flags fluttering alongside all the pink and rainbow. Their empathy would be appreciated only as long as it would take for them to draw a bead on you with their van or throw you off a roof.
And the German government is equally to blame. This murderous Abdul Ballout was a known fanatic who, as Ed pointed out, had been on the authorities' radar for years.

Chancellor Friedrich Merz is now said to be considering stripping citizenship from terrorists - there's a concept. His proposal wouldn't apply in this case because it's for dual citizenships, and I have no hope he'd ever act on it. He's simply a weak sister in an angry country trying to hang onto a job he has no ability for.

Because the obvious attacked another protected class instead of just regular Germans out for, say, a Chistmas shopping stroll, or an evening in the town square.
Getting information or a description of the assailant has been excruciatingly slow.
And there are always 'considerations' for the perpetrator. 'He has mental issues' - there's always an excuse.
This response was very different from any Christmas Market or city square ramming. In any of the European countries plagued with this pestilence.
