Yeah, but no one knew where the hell Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin was for days at a clip, twice.
Not that anyone really missed him, but it's the thought that counts, as he was supposed to be this big professional military man, and missiles and stuff were flying at the service members he was supposed to be leading and accountable for.
Derp, derp, Austin just vaporizes.
..."I never told anyone not to inform the president, White House or anyone else about my hospitalization," Mr Austin said in testimony before the House Armed Services Committee, the first chance lawmakers have had to question him since the incident came to light earlier this year.
Representative Mike Rogers said it was "totally unacceptable" it took three days for the president to be informed Mr Austin was in hospital.
"Wars were raging in Ukraine and Israel, our ships were under fire in the Red Sea, and our bases were bracing for attack in Syria and Iraq. But the commander in chief did not know that his secretary of defense was out of action," he said early on in the hearing.
"Who will be held accountable for this embarrassment?" Republican Congressman Jim Banks asked Mr Austin, later pressing him about the length of time he and President Joe Biden went without speaking while he was at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.
Former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg (BWAhahahaha) adopted two children with his whackjob husband and promptly took off on paternity leave.
No one noticed as Pete is easy to miss, not being a real 'work' kind of guy, until passing the infrastructure bill got sticky and a Sec Trans should be the face of the administration on the Hill.
Pete lit out on that paid vacay, didn't tell anyone, and didn't resurface until the heat got too intense and forced him to come up for air.

He was, he said, glad that it caused a 'conversation.' That's Pete - never thinking of himself, always about others. And I love the phrasing - they 'welcomed' the babies, as if one of them had birthed them instead of obtaining them to make a 'growing' family.
U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg spoke on "The View" about the criticism he's been met with over his paternity leave amid Congress' pending approval of the Biden administration's infrastructure bill.
Buttigieg and husband Chasten welcomed twins Joseph August and Penelope Rose in August. On Wednesday, he told the co-hosts about his growing family.
...When Buttigieg went on paid paternity leave after their twins were born, Congress was discussing the Biden administration's Build Back Better Act. If the $3.5 trillion human infrastructure package is passed, it would give all workers up to 12 weeks of paid family and medical leave.
Under current U.S. policy, the Family and Medical Leave Act, employees who qualify can take time off to care for a newborn or loved one or recover from illness without losing their job -- but leave is unpaid in most cases.
"It's helped us have a conversation about parental leave," he said. "Every American ought to be able to get paid parental leave. That's something that the president believes in and has proposed. It's something I believe."
East Palestine knows all about 'Have You Seen This Pete?' missing person posters. Pete showed up three weeks after the train cars went off the tracks.
...Why did Buttigieg clear his calendar for a Philly visit after waiting so long to show up in rural, red-state Ohio? He was asked that question at Monday’s news conference.
“When I went (to East Palestine), I decided to break from the precedent, the norm, that generally transportation secretaries don’t go to active response sites,” Buttigieg said. “Part of what I found was important — especially when you saw all the politicization and misinformation that the people of East Palestine had to deal with — is that we’re just in a new world in terms of the importance of presence to help make sure everybody understands what is happening, the coordination that is happening, the teamwork that’s happening.
“And so, in the same way that I value the ongoing conversation that I have with people I spend time with on the ground in East Palestine, I value the opportunity to be both on the ground and coordinating over the phone with everybody who’s involved in the (Philadelphia) response.”
Buttigieg’s claim that his learning curve covers the disparity was met with skepticism. Critics argue the slow response in East Palestine was more evidence that rural, largely White communities are a low priority for the Democratic Party.
The Washington Post noted at the time that Trump carried East Palestine with nearly 70 percent of the vote. It quoted former Ohio Congressman Tim Ryan, a Democrat, who said that what he described as “the slow response from the federal government reinforced the idea that officials in Washington don’t care about voters in Ohio.”
“You want to show the people in that community … that when something like this happens that their government is able to react in an effective and efficient way, in an immediate way,” Ryan said. “The feedback we’re hearing from the community, people in the community, is that nobody cared.”
On the other hand, Philadelphia is a Democratic stronghold. Biden has made multiple stops in the area since taking office. And he is scheduled to appear in Philadelphia on Saturday, where he will receive the AFL-CIO’s endorsement.
The media wasn't too interested in tracking him down for that, either.
Nobody in the Biden administration cared about East Palestine, and those folks were never going to be the people they cared about.
The media helped Buttigieg cover for his complete ineptness and incompetence every time.
Even with the baby vacation. It became a story of modern survival fantasy instead of a slacker doing what he did best.
