Holy smokes. There are few things on earth I love more than an internecine Democratic Party knife fight, particularly if one of the blades flashing in the moonlight belongs to one of the few Democrats I might respect a little or a lot.
It is beyond satisfying when the few rational members they have among them finally get bent out of shape by the outrageous antics and hysterical indulgence in vile demagoguery that is doing inestimable damage to the party and its prospects, and are forced to be the adults in the room.
That sport of courage is hard to find anywhere in the party anymore - they're all scared of upsetting the Commie lunatic/Hamas wing.
The first one this weekend was Van Jones. Now this fellow is a cultured radical's radical, but he's pragmatic as hell for all of that, and knows there are lines you don't cross.
He has often been a surprising voice of sanity in cable roundtables calling BS on Democratic antics before. But, woof - as David noted this morning (who also has a similar soft spot for Jones), he laid a hammer down on the children two days ago.
...But some people in groups like the DSA are pushing an agenda FAR outside those ideals. Supporting Hamas is not progressive. "No police, no prisons, no borders" is not progressive. Celebrating the murder of Israeli civilians is not progressive. These ideas are REGRESSIVE.
I'm tired of being told that, to be a progressive, I now must swear allegiance to crazy ideas.

I'm a strong Democrat, with a winning bipartisan track record. I'm rooted in progressive ideals and policies: criminal justice reform, Green New Deal, Medicare for All, free education,… pic.twitter.com/foPRXip7fb
Jones even used a poop emoji as a closing flourish - wowsahs.
Somehow that silly little symbol at the end has more effect than all the phony baloney f-bombs Debbie Dingle ever strung together.
...Some defend the far left by claiming they only want Nordic-style social democracy. If that were true, I might applaud them. I want those policies, too! But what does universal healthcare have to do with Hamas? With abolishing all law enforcement? With erasing all borders? With treating every wealthy person as a villain? Ideas matter. And these are terrible ideas.
Right now, extremists are trying to sneak backwards proposals into our party, hoping mainstream Democrats are too frustrated with MAGA and the Democratic Party establishment to notice.
But we see you.
Yes, we want our Democratic Party to be a big tent. But we don’t need "party poopers. So STOP pooping in the punch bowl — and telling us the turds are ice cubes.
They aren't. And we are smart enough to know the difference. 💩
People in the comments were, like, 'Welcome to realizing your club is full of terrible ideas, dude.'
I’m old enough to remember when Van Jones was considered “too radical.” I can’t believe anyone that doesn’t think the really left understands how out of the mainstream they are.

The next voice was one we've heard more and more, who explained the concept of 'Don't pee on my leg and tell me it's raining' to a shocked Jonathon Karl.
THE TALKING POINT IS, 'IT'S NOT COMMUNISM, IT'S SOCIALISM' - WELL, OKAY, I'VE READ THE QUOTES

DON'T TELL ME I'M NOT SEEING WHAT I AM SEEING
None of these has stung the progressives in the party quite the way another critique did that landed during yesterday's talk show rounds.
Pennsylvania's Senator John Fetterman was an entirely different fellow in 2018, and, in point of fact, someone socialist blunderbuss Sen. Bernie Sanders didn't hesitate to endorse during his run for Lt. Governor...

I can certainly think of one 🤔 pic.twitter.com/DVikZwsofd

Last week signaled the end of what had been a decade-long Bernie bromance for Fetterman.
Graham Platner's political collapse did more than derail a scandal-plagued Senate campaign in Maine. It also completed Pennsylvania Sen. John Fetterman's public transformation from a Bernie Sanders-backed progressive populist to one of the left's most aggressive internal critics.
...Sanders ultimately called on Platner to end his candidacy after the allegation surfaced, but Fetterman argued the Vermont progressive owed voters an apology for helping elevate him in the first place.
"More than anyone, he pushed 'P. Hustle' into the election. And now he keeps pushing these Communists and these kinds of awful, anti-American people."
...Chris Borick, a professor at Lehigh University and former president of the Pennsylvania Political Science Association, called Fetterman's change in relationship with Sanders and the Democrats' progressive wing "dramatic."
"As someone that follows Pennsylvania politics, I can't find anything even close in comparison to the shifts that we've seen in Fetterman's positions on an array of matters over a short period of time," Borick said. "We've seen people switch parties, like Arlen Specter... but in terms of a quick departure on the most significant levels, Fetterman's changes are without precedent in the state."
Fetterman's break with the left has not been limited to Sanders-world. In Pennsylvania, his increasingly independent posture has also put distance between him and parts of the state Democratic establishment, including breaking some partisan norms.
Fetterman still votes with Democrats 74 percent of the time, but on the things that matter most to the seething masses of the Hamas wing?

Oooh, they hate him with a passion and are licking their chops at a chance to boot him in 2028.
Fetterman, this new and highly improved version, could give a rip. And as far as the hate-filled crackpots in his party and their loopy loser of a leader, he had words for Bernie, too.
Senator John Fetterman has demanded Bernie Sanders 'humble himself' after the Vermont socialist threw his support behind disgraced Graham Platner and now 'pro-Hamas' candidate Abdul El-Sayed.
The Pennsylvania senator unleashed on Sanders during a Fox News appearance Saturday, claiming the 84-year-old Democrat was sabotaging the party's chances of victory by his controversial endorsements.
'Humble yourself, Bernie,' Fetterman said while venting to Saturday in America co-host Kayleigh McEnany.
'You just pushed an accused rapist up in Maine and now you're pushing essentially a pro-Hamas candidate that's been anti-American and deeply anti-Israel,' he added.
THESE DSA PEOPLE ARE DEEPLY ANTI-ISRAEL, AND THEY'RE DEEPLY ANTI-AMERICA, TOO
Fetterman points out that the DSA candidates have been 'forced to delete' things that aren't ancient history, but recent posts of what they've said and done, and he calls it 'indefensible.'
The senator is baffled why other Democrats find it impossible to say, ' These are not Democrats.' Of course they can run if they want, but he wants them nowhere near his party's umbrella - however wide others are cravenly claiming it to be.
The clip with the money quote is right here.
FETTERMAN: "Bernie is there campaigning for [Abdul El-Sayed]. Humble yourself Bernie, you just pushed an accused rapist and imploded up in Maine and now you’re pushing a pro-Hamas candidate that’s been anti-American...he’s a socialist that earned $700,000 last year…” pic.twitter.com/BVorJrwgPd

As I said, progressive heads are exploding, and the air is turning blue from the curses flung into the sky bearing Fetterman's name, swearing vengeance upon him for...sounding like a decent human being and calling for accountability.
...Since his election to the Senate, Pennsylvania Democratic groups, including the Monroe County Democratic Party in the Poconos, have branded him a "traitor," while Punchbowl described his current political standing as "tenuous" and reported that no member of the Keystone State's House delegation would confirm support for a 2028 reelection bid.
"Squad" member Rep. Summer Lee, who represents Fetterman's hometown and is more ideologically aligned with Sanders, told the outlet the increasingly isolated senator would run "at his own peril."
Chen said Fetterman's progressive "bona fides" remain, noting he still is reliably liberal on LGBTQ rights, marijuana and abortion — adding that as mayor or lieutenant governor, foreign policy positions were a nonfactor. Still, he argued, the fight over Platner shows how far Fetterman has moved from the progressive coalition that launched him into national politics.
Guess who's got a new guy.
I’m endorsing @AbdulElSayed today—because he is THE fighter Michigan needs in the Senate. pic.twitter.com/skDxiNnEtw

I wonder if he's as great as her last one? Whoever he is, he's sure making Fetterman, Maher, and Jones' case.

And I just love her tagline.
GET THE MONEY OUT OF POLITICS
Unless, you know, someone needs that schweet, schweet political action committee (PAC) money.
Both Bernie and Liz Warren took Super PAC money, while they shamed other candidates for taking it. Both she and Bernie Sanders are frauds! pic.twitter.com/7IU9roIhRL

Liz never ever mentions that she's had her hand in a till someone else has filled.
Kind of like going after the oligarchy and having to keep bumping the classification up to, what... trillionaires now, because all the ones doing the screaming are now double-digit millionaires themselves.
Communists are the worst, most vicious hypocrites of all. I'd like every last one 'out of politics' as Lie-a-Watha says, but this takes time.
If Fetterman and the few rational America-loving Democrats left standing can do it, have at it and don't waste another second.
Start taking that trash out now.
