The more that comes out about this 'accident' on the I-81 in Schuylkill County, PA, the more you just want to scream about the utter waste of it all.
44-year-old veteran PA state trooper, Michael Pahira, had a semi-truck pulled over on the right side of the interstate for a routine inspection. Both his patrol vehicle and the big rig he'd stopped were well and what they thought was safely off the highway.
When the unthinkable, unexplainable, and unforgivable happened.
...The Herald reports Pahira was conducting a routine commercial inspection on another tractor trailer at 7 a.m. Wednesday when the crash occurred. Authorities say both the tractor trailer and Pahira’s police vehicle were pulled over in the right-hand shoulder of the highway.
“A second CMV (commercial motor vehicle) was also traveling southbound on I-81 and approached the location. The second CMV left the roadway and struck the patrol unit’s side view mirror. It then impacted the rear of the CMV, which was being inspected, pushing it further off the roadway. The second CMV then struck Trooper Pahira. Both CMVs caught on fire after impact,” Pennsylvania State Police said in a press release.
Law enforcement tells the newspaper Pahira had been directly speaking with the other driver, Walter Alfredo Reinoso, of New York, when Bon’s tractor trailer suddenly veered into the right-hand shoulder and struck them.
“According to the affidavit, nearby construction workers observed smoke and headed towards the scene. They managed to pull Pahira out from beneath the vehicle and drag him about 30 yards away from the wreckage,” the Herald reported. “Pahira never regained consciousness and was pronounced dead later Wednesday morning at Lehigh Valley Hospital–Schuylkill in Pottsville. Bon was also transported to the hospital for undisclosed injuries.”
Court records go on to indicate that Pahira was pinned between the front bumper of Bon’s tractor trailer and the side cab of the other.
In a tale that's becoming all too familiar, at the wheel of the murderous rogue semi-truck was an illegal Haitian under a deportation order, with a commercial driver's license (CDL) from Massachusetts.
A commercial truck driver from Massachusetts being held on $700,000 bail after allegedly killing a Pennsylvania state trooper in a fiery crash with another tractor-trailer Wednesday morning is an illegal immigrant from Haiti, federal authorities say.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) tells the Herald that Michael Bon, 33, of Brockton, is a Haitian illegal immigrant who has been in the country illegally since June of 2025. DHS says the Commonwealth of Massachusetts issued Bon his Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
On July 2, 2024, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) admitted Bon into the United States at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport as a parolee. In October of that year, Bon filed an application for Temporary Protected Status (TPS) with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) under the Biden administration, which ultimately was never granted. Last week, the Supreme Court ruled in favor of the federal government to end TPS for Haitian nationals.
DHS says in June of 2025 USCIS terminated Bon’s parole, issuing him a notice on June 13. But despite his parole being terminated, Bon refused to leave the country and remained in the United States illegally, settling in Brockton.
UPDATE: DHS has released the mugshot and Massachusetts CDL for the Haitian illegal alien truck driver charged w/ killing PA State Trooper Michael Pahira Jr. in a crash. Massachusetts, suddenly in the spotlight for their CDLs, is waving arms frantically as they push back, saying the Trump administration told them this scummy rotter was good to go in the federal database and that the rule change hadn't taken effect yet.
The Boston Herald asked the state why MA State Police hadn't tagged this guy, as they are charged with coordinating CDL road tests, etc.
...The RMV says Bon applied to renew his CDL in February 2026 and was again approved, adding that he would not have been approved if he applied for renewal next year. The Trump administration implemented a new rule on March 16 directing states not to renew or issue new non-domiciled CDLs.
“The RMV relies on the federal SAVE database to determine whether someone is eligible to work in the United States. When Bon applied for in 2025 and 2026, he was listed by the federal government as eligible,” Aubourg said.
But while the RMV cites Bon’s work eligibility, it is the Massachusetts State Police that is tasked with managing all CDL skills and road tests in coordination with the RMV. The Herald asked Aubourg what the MSP’s role was in Bon being issued a CDL and why the law enforcement agency is tasked with managing the road tests to begin with.
“The Massachusetts State Police’s role is limited to conducting the commercial skills tests for the CDL program. They do not have the authority to approve or issue CDLs,” said Aubourg.
Last year, six State Police troopers in the MSP’s CDL Unit were found guilty of participating in a conspiracy to pass prospective drivers who had failed the test in exchange for gifts — what prosecutors say they called “the golden handshake.”
As if to emphasize MA's sketchy association with enabling illegals, on Thursday, the day after the horrific Pennsylvania crash, there was a ghastly incident on the Bourne Bridge, which crosses over the Cape Cod Canal, connecting the rest of the state to the Cape.
It got pretty hairy.
...At about 9:30 a.m. Thursday, state police said troopers were responding to a medical emergency on Route 25 in Bourne when Deleon allegedly nearly struck the patient and multiple first responders before continuing to drive. Prosecutors said troopers stopped Deleon at the top of the Bourne Bridge, where he allegedly struck two troopers, dragging one of them.
...Video recorded by other motorists shows the suspect's Nissan Altima weaving erratically through heavy holiday weekend traffic on the narrow, two-way bridge.
From the bridge, Deleon continued onto MacArthur Boulevard in Falmouth, police said.
Falmouth police said they received a report of a hit-and-run crash on Gifford Street near Woodview Avenue involving a vehicle matching the suspect vehicle's description. Police also said a vehicle matching that description nearly struck multiple police detail officers working on Brick Kiln Road.
Authorities tracked Deleon to his East Falmouth home, where prosecutors said a Massachusetts State Police K-9 bit him before he complied with officers' commands.
Prosecutors also said Deleon is a habitual traffic offender.
Two other people at the residence were arrested on outstanding warrants.
The trooper who was dragged was taken to a hospital with what appeared to be minor injuries, state police said.
As it turns out, Mr Deleon, aka 'Massachusetts man,' is one of Governor Maura Healey's favored constituents.
Whoda thunk?
Do check out the excitement at :23 into the video. Deleon thought he was Speed Racer but in holiday bridge traffic.
Armando Rogelio Deleon, a 74-year-old illegal immigrant from Panama living in East Falmouth, Massachusetts, was arrested after allegedly initiating a police chase on the Bourne Bridge on July 3, 2026, dragging a State Police trooper with his vehicle before fleeing.

He was… https://t.co/IxgnhjL4QA
...He was later caught following a high-speed pursuit involving hit-and-run and near-misses with officers. Court records reveal Deleon’s extensive criminal history, including repeated arrests for drug possession, OUI, driving with a suspended license, assault on police officers, and violent crimes against vulnerable victims—yet he was frequently released early or had charges dismissed by Massachusetts judges, even while awaiting trial on similar offenses. @bostonherald reporting.
I don't have enough room to rattle off all of this POS's run-ins with MA law enforcement, but I do want you to get a sense of what the coddling by the MA judicial system for a career criminal looks like.
Oh, yeah - and an illegal alien.
...Months earlier, in January 2022, Deleon was arrested on two counts of assault and battery on a disabled person over the age of 60, witness intimidation, and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. In April of that year, then-First Justice of Waltham District Court Sarah Wayland Ellis signed off on Deleon’s early release and even dismissed the shocking and violent charges against him.
Weeks after being released on those charges, Deleon was arrested again on May 15 on OUI drugs, assault, driving with a suspended license and other charges in Quincy. He was originally held on $5,000 bail, but was taken back into custody after violating his conditions of release.
Prosecutors had only recommended a sentence of 6 months in the House of Correction, two years of anger management, and drug screening. Ultimately, Quincy District Court Judge Mark Coven sentenced Deleon to a year of probation for the assault, OUI and malicious property damage charges. Judge Coven then dismissed charges against Deleon for reckless driving, failure to stop for police and driving with a suspended license.
Deleon also has several more criminal cases across the state – including one in Brockton District Court, one each in Boston Municipal Court Central and Brighton districts, and two cases in Boston Municipal Court in Roxbury.
Deleon is currently being held without bail at the Bristol County House of Corrections for his latest run-in with law enforcement. His next court date is scheduled for July 14.
What a miracle no one was killed.
But in Pennsylvania, a family is deep in mourning, and friends are speaking of their shattering loss. Trooper Pahira had moved to that barracks in order to be able to help his mom while she went through cancer treatments.
Transportation Secretary Scott Duffy said Pahira was also the caretaker for his cancer-stricken mother.
"This 4th of July weekend my thoughts are with the family of this PA state trooper who was killed by an illegal Haitian truck driver,” Duffy wrote on X. “Trooper Pahira was caring for his mom with cancer. These senseless tragedies are why I am working my heart out to change the policies that encouraged illegal drivers, enabled shady trucker schools, and drove down the wages for American truckers. Trooper Pahira — Rest in peace.”
Sen. Dave McCormick (R-Pa.) also paid tribute to the slain trooper.
“PA is grieving the loss of Trooper Michael Pahira,” McCormick wrote on X. “He served with honor, cared for his mom during her cancer battle, and should be with his family today. We owe it to Trooper Pahira and every law enforcement officer to enforce our immigration laws and protect those who protect us.”
Our thoughts and prayers are with them in this most awful of moments.
I have some thoughts on blue-state governors and their priorities, but this is a family site.
All I can say is get them out of here.
