Some Shootings Are Terrorism and Some Are Just Gettin' Business Done

We all know the ones that will be in the news.

The horror erupting in downtown Austin early Sunday morning will be, at least for a little while, as much as it pains progressives to have it in the news. The fiend who is accused of murdering 2 and injuring as many as 14 at that barbecue honky tonk happens to fit nearly every last one of their current favorite victim grievance-class profiles.

Immigrant - CHECK!

Muslim - CHECK!

Black - CHECK!

Which sadly left the Left with little to do but squawk about 'gun control.'

In full-blown campaign mode but hampered by the lack of a white supremacist to blame, Texas Opie rushed to renounce 'thoughts and prayers,' while invoking 'thoughts and prayers,' because his are #ForRealz and not for victims in any event.

His prayers are all about him taking your guns.

I see in Asheville, the real victims are becoming frightful again, and we should be ashamed of ourselves.

Ryder Harrington, all of 19 years old, is the first of the dead to be identified from the ghastly attack, God rest his young soul.

If you count the murderer, that's seventeen people who have bullet holes of varying degrees in their bodies, thanks to one Senegalese naturalized citizen with anger issues and what sounds like a religious grudge.

What you probably haven't heard about was the mass shooting that same 'early Sunday morning' in Cincinnati because that, sadly, was just business as usual.

Lefty tool Krassenspleen jumped on it until, well, he found out what the concert was and then dropped flogging it like a hot potato.

Let's just say it wasn't the Philharmonic.

Hip hop artist DJ Fresh was apparently just getting ready to come out onstage when all hell broke loose.

...Tyra Moore, who was present at Riverfront Live when the shooting broke out, recounted what the scene was like at the venue.

"About time I think the first three shots went off, it was a quick pause. Everything stopped, it was like everybody froze," recalled Moore. "Immediately, everybody started screaming and running. So you know, you want to get down and back off and run or get low or get out of harm's way — but you don't know where harm is coming from. You got people running at you, it's dark as can be, it's smoke everywhere. So my thing was, get low and try to duck from the gunshots."

Another witness, who did not wish to be identified, said that the DJ at the venue didn't even manage to start playing his first song before the shooting started.

"So we were waiting for the DJ to come out," recounted the witness. "It was his birthday. He was performing, I guess just like a little DJ set. And then he didn't play. He didn't get through the first song. And then someone started shooting. We thought it was like a bottle popping at first, and then the rounds kept going. So then everybody just kind of ducked and just started running out the door. And then that's when I fell. Everybody was kind of trampling over each other."

The woman continued by saying that she heard at least 30 different rounds go off inside the venue.

Riverfront Live's owner, Tim Jordan, also spoke to WLWT, saying that he is heartbroken by the tragedy.

The police chief of Cincinnati, Theresa Theege - you might remember her infamous video appearances last summer, where concert goers were jumped and beaten so badly they had to be hospitalized - has been under investigation and on administrative leave since October.

The city has maintained its destructive criminal downward slide in her absence. They recently published their own five-year crime stats.

WOOF

At least one poor fellow was exonerated just a few days ago, when a little closer look at the incriminating video showed the two Cincinnati teens he shot had pulled their weapons on him first.

Shaquille Ferguson faced felonious assault and weapons charges after he shot at a 16-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man outside the City Bird restaurant during the dinner hour. The prosecution says the 19-year-old was hit with a bullet—the 16-year-old was hit with shrapnel or glass.

Both teens survived, and officers arrested Ferguson after surveillance video showed him firing a gun at them.

The trial was scheduled to begin on Friday, but the assistant prosecutor moved to drop the charges after he said new evidence exonerated Ferguson. He said police recently provided clearer video, showing the teens drawing their guns first on Ferguson and another man, Quaid Daniels.

Such nice kids in that city and such competent elected officials in charge.

The virtue-signaling mayor of Cincinnati, Aftab Pureval, says it's not the children; it's the guns.

...Pureval calls it a challenging time for the community.

"This is a dark moment for our community. It's horrific."

He blames easy access to guns, and an inability by some to settle disagreements without violence.

So, because it's just another day in Cincinnati, you will have about as good luck finding any more about the mass shooting at the concert as the Cincinnati cops will finding who sprayed at least thirty rounds inside a packed venue and hit anywhere from nine to thirteen people.

BUT WAIT - THERE'S MORE

Yesterday wasn't just busy overseas with bullets flying.

Sunday in Long Beach, California, a crowd of about 60 people or so had lined up, all excited and anticipating the grand opening of a burger joint named in memory of murdered rapper Nipsey Hussle.

...Hussle, a Grammy Award winning artist whose real name was Ermias Asghedom, launched the music, fashion entertainment brand Marathon in 2010, and was actively working to open more L.A. businesses when he was shot and killed outside one of his stores in 2019.

His older brother and longtime collaborator “Blacc Sam” Asghedom ultimately launched the first Marathon Burgers in the 7500 block of Melrose in L.A. to honor Hussle’s legacy as an artist, community activist and an entrepreneur in March 2025.

The mayor was there for the ribbon-cutting, and reportedly, Snoop Dogg was still there when people got down to ordering burgers.

And ducking.

This mass shooting hasn't really made a splash, either.

At least one person is dead after a shooting in Long Beach amid the grand opening of a new Marathon Burger, a franchise envisioned by and later launched to honor late rapper Nipsey Hussle, officials with the Long Beach Police Department confirmed to KTLA.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting involving multiple victims just after 3:30 p.m. outside the grand opening of a new Marathon Burger near Broadway and Pine Avenue the city’s busy downtown corridor.

Medical personnel with the Long Beach Fire Department arrived and rushed three adult males in their 20’s to the hospital, one of whom was in critical condition and required life saving measures outside the restaurant.

In an updated statement, Long Beach officials said that victim succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

One dead, two wounded, broad daylight, huge crowd, big city street, celebrities and public officials in attendance, and it barely rated four tiny paragraphs in the Los Angeles Times.

Well...huh.

Someone will want our guns because of it if they're forced to comment on it at all.

Not all mass shootings, whatever the body count, are remotely equal, no matter how often they happen.

Some are just, like, takin' care of business, and not worth the Left's time.

It's just so weird how it works, no?

Actually...no.
