As part of I&I’s continual effort to keep readers up to date in regard to the carbon tales, we take a dive into Climate Realism’s September fact check. What we learn is what we already knew — the alarmists are not committed to truth, they are committed to their lazy narrative.
Let’s begin with United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres’ claim that seas are rising “faster than at any point in recorded history with far-reaching consequences,” adding, because there is nothing to fulminate over without the grift, that “we need to urgently scale up climate action” as well as “international cooperation.”
Climate Realism, a coalition of several reliable policy groups, says this is “demonstrably false” and points to the Holocene era of roughly 8,000 to 11,000 years ago in which sea levels rose 8 millimeters to 12 millimeters a year, far higher than the 3.4 millimeters annually over the three-decade period that began in 1993. “Atmospheric carbon dioxide levels,” says Climate Realism, “are clearly not the sea level control knob.”
Big fat lie (our words) No. 2 is the assertion that the climate crisis, worsened by a warmer atmosphere, caused the August Grand Canyon flash flooding that killed two and left another missing.
