When it was over, Stephanie Watson was tempted to burn down her car.
She pulled into the Grand Altitude Federal Credit Union drive-through at about 2 p.m. Monday, and waited in line to cash her check.
The bank sits on Riverton’s busiest thoroughfare and the same block as Walmart. It’s also about a quarter-mile from a weedy canal.
A woman ahead of Watson had gotten out of her car and swung her bag toward something on the ground. A truck in line pulled forward, but stopped just short of the bank terminal.
“What is this guy doing?” thought Watson to herself.
The truck pulled forward, and Watson saw a bull snake she described to Cowboy State Daily as at least 3 feet in length.
The woman in the drive-through tried again to shoo the snake onto the grass.
“And then she comes over to my window and throws her arms up,” said Watson. “I rolled down my window and I said, ‘Did I run it over?’ She says, ‘No but it just crawled under your car.’”
