The Department of Justice (DOJ) announced that Byron Donalds is not under federal investigation Thursday, contradicting his political rival James Fishback’s allegation that he is.
Last week, Fishback said that Byron Donalds was under investigation for “federal sex trafficking” tied to disgraced Republican Rep. Corey Mills. Donalds and Fishback are both gunning in the Republican primary for the Florida gubernatorial election. The DOJ stepped in via social to deny Fishback’s claims.
“Falsely accusing someone of being under investigation is a dangerous form of weaponization. This claim is not true. Congressman Byron Donalds is not under investigation,” the DOJ Rapid Response X account shared.
Fishback said a whistleblower approached his campaign with damning information regarding Donalds.
