This week, we’re focusing on a Houston-area artist whose life’s work has become a tribute to sacrifice.
For the past 16 years, Ken Pridgeon has dedicated himself to painting portraits of every Texas soldier killed in Iraq and Afghanistan. He began the mission in 2010, when he was 75 years old.
“Life begins at 75, folks… don’t give up,” Pridgeon said.
Now approaching 91, he still spends long days in front of the canvas.
“It keeps me alive,” he said.
