The Mamdanis: Let's Not Forget the Victims of 10/7 – Gazans!

Let's be honest. We knew that the 25th anniversary of 9/11 would be awkward when New York City voters elected Islamist sympathizer Zohran Mamdani as mayor. We could have predicted that the third anniversary of Hamas' despicable and grotesque atrocities in their Al-Aqsa Flood operation would be just as awkward in the Big Apple. How did Mamdani commemorate the mass rapes, murders, and kidnappings of men, women, and children?

Just as you'd expect, of course. After paying lip service to the people whom Hamas raped and slaughtered, Mamdani turned it into an indictment against Israel for fighting the war Hamas deliberately and cruelly started on October 7, 2023:

This day is profoundly painful for so many New Yorkers. It marks three years since the horrific war crimes of October 7. On that day, Hamas killed more than 1,100 Israelis and abducted 251 others. We grieve alongside our many friends and neighbors who still carry that unthinkable loss.

The suffering did not begin nor end that day. It instead continued through the Israeli government’s devastating, ongoing genocide in Gaza, in which it has killed more than 74,000 Palestinians—including more than 21,000 children. Even since the so-called ceasefire, more than 1,400 Palestinians have been killed. That suffering has intensified with every Israeli bomb dropped on ambulances waiting outside hospitals, every drone strike targeting a residential building or journalist, and every shipment of food aid turned away at a border crossing. Many New Yorkers are reckoning with this unbearable grief, and we mourn alongside them – all while knowing that our tax dollars fund these war crimes.

Three years later, we must refuse to accept a world in which occupation and apartheid continue, where war crimes are met with impunity, and our federal government continues its complicity with every arms shipment.

To honor the dead, we must fight for a world in which every person can live with freedom, safety, and dignity.

What happens when terrorists start wars they can't win? They face the consequences of their own actions. Mamdani and his allies want to indemnify Islamic terrorist networks from those consequences permanently. And for too long, American administrations of both parties played along and forced Israel into useless "ceasefires" that were nothing more than opportunities for the terrorists to reload. Mamdani is angry that Israel refuses to allow itself to be annihilated, and that the Trump administration won't force Israel to do so.

Ben Shapiro offers an inventory to demonstrate Mamdani's warped priorities:

My pal Guy Benson rebuts every single one of those 141 words, including any "and" and "the":

3) He pretends to be fighting the scourge of antisemitism in NYC & feigns puzzlement that many people don’t believe him.

Mamdani's strategy to fight antisemitism is the same as that of the progressive Left everywhere, and especially the Islamist-sympathetic Left. That is to have Jews submit to Islam, allow the destruction of their ancestral homeland by the Arab colonizers-cum-'Palestinians' that have tried to keep them locked out of it, and to die quietly in the interests of progressive 'justice.' Israel's refusal to commit national suicide and allow Jews to be enslaved or 'cleansed' from Judea is what Mamdani cynically calls "apartheid" and "genocide."

It's not just Mamdani either, but also his wife, Rama Duwaji. The Washington Free Beacon reports on her artistic efforts to shower praise on the "martyrs" of ''Palestine,'" and not just in a general way:

New York City first lady Rama Duwaji has created art for a virulently anti-Israel olive oil company that celebrates Palestinian violence, trades in antisemitic imagery, and sells expensive bottles that celebrate an OG Palestinian terrorist who shot down a British plane. ...

Not far from her bio and products on the Olive Odyssey website, the company sells its "Nazareth Picholine Cold Pressed: Floral [Harvest 2025]"—with art featuring "a hand-drawn portrait of Khalil Abu Osba, a Palestinian resistance fighter." Abu Osba is hailed by his olive oil aficionado supporters as an anti-Israel militant who not only shot down a plane but was also condemned to death before breaking out of a fortress prison.

The highly active social media accounts for Olive Odyssey are almost cartoonishly anti-Israel, displaying a notorious antisemitic image of Israel as a skull with dead Palestinians in its teeth, deploying language about the olive trees watered with "martyrs' blood," and even accusing Israel of appropriating salad.

It's part and parcel for Duwaji, an anti-Israel activist who's had to apologize for deleted social media posts celebrating Oct. 7 and who, even as her husband recently rolled out a $30 million program to combat antisemitism, was "artist-in-residence" at a luxury Islamic wellness retreat that praised terrorism.

Let's face it ... the bar was already so low for Mamdani in NYC for today's anniversary that one might have needed a ditch-digger to limbo it. Nevertheless, Mamdani and his wife failed to clear even those low expectations. They and their propagandist allies exploit Jewish deaths to advance the Islamist cause, a consistent pattern even before the October 7 attacks, and one that has intensified ever since.

We need a reminder of what October 7 truly means, and thankfully, my friend John Ondrasik reminded everyone today on Twitter. The images may be disturbing, but they are necessary in showing the nature of the terrorists who swept across southern Israel, committing the worst atrocities seen in modern conflict for decades. John wonders whether we will stand with civilization or barbarity; the Mamdanis have made their choice public.

Editor’s Note: New York City is now facing the consequences of Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s socialist takeover.
