UN Secretary-General António Guterres is, thankfully, leaving the UN at year's end. Good riddance to bad rubbish.
If Angela Merkel were Germany's worst Chancellor since the founding of the UN, Guterres fills the same role for the international body that does little more than fund terrorism in the Middle East and blame Israel for the world's ills.
Actually, that's not true. To be fair, the United Nations does plenty of other awful things. It spreads chaos, destruction, and disease everywhere it goes.
On his way out the door, Guterres took great pains to slander Israel, because that is what all the cool kids do. If a day goes by without assigning all manner of horrors to the Jews, it's a day wasted in the eyes of the transnationalists and their toadies.

No Jews, no news. That's not just a slogan; it is almost literally true when it comes to covering up the horrors that happen. Israel fights a war for survival, and it's a genocide. Iran slaughters tens of thousands of its own citizens, and it's just another day in the Third World if you want to throw Iran into the same bucket as African countries, where mass slaughter can be a national sport.

There is something about Israel that irritates — no, infuriates — the transnationalists. For decades, they have obsessively focused on Israel as a uniquely evil actor on the world stage, and every time the UN acts to "keep the peace," the peacekeepers' role is to protect terrorists from Israel, while giving free rein to terrorists to attack Israel.
I think it is a mistake to assume the obsessive hatred of and focus on Israel is entirely due to antisemitism, although that surely plays a big enough role to merit more than a little attention.
United Nations Condemns Israel Far More Than Every Other Country CombinedBut a significant fraction of the hostility also has to do with the fact that Israel outclasses most countries in almost every respect. It punches above its weight in scientific achievement, economic power, military power, and, yes, human rights for its citizens. It is, unquestionably, the least racist country with the most opportunities for its citizens of all races, creeds, and colors in the region.
In other words, it is Westernized, and the transnational elite is determined to destroy Western Culture, and Israel sticks in their craw, particularly because, by any normal standard, the country should have been destroyed long ago. It is surrounded by hostile powers that have waged war on it for decades (although most of these countries are realizing that working with Israel is a better strategy than not), and it has survived despite the fact that billions of people, many of them armed and ready to pull the trigger, want it gone.
There is no possible universe where, by any rational measure, Israel's actions in Gaza compare to atrocities that happened under Guterres' watch. Even if you accept the claims that Israel is committing atrocities in Gaza rather than fighting a war for its existence, the sheer scale of carnage elsewhere dwarfs that of what we saw in Israel.
Yet when Guterres made his slanders, the reaction was not horror at his dissimulation; it was applause for his moral clarity.
The irony is almost blinding; citizens of most of the countries represented by those UN members would be far better off if they lived in Israel rather than being condemned to live in the squalor their exalted representatives have created. Everybody in that room is happy to chat with the representatives from North Korea, South Africa, Iran, and China as they munch on luxurious finger foods and sip their expensive white wine, all the while sneering at Israel.
Guterres's most memorable moment, at least for me, was posing in his $5,000 suit in the ocean to warn us that the Maldives were rapidly being swamped by rising tides. No doubt he stayed in a luxury suite while he was there, as the elites always do, flocking to private resorts on the islands. The Maldives are, as they often advertise, the #1 travel destination for the rich and famous when they want to get away.
Israel offends so much because it proves that these people are fundamentally corrupt and narcissistic. It proves that a determined people can take a desert and turn it into a garden, and a liberal society can flourish even when surrounded by barbarians who want to destroy them.
Guterres and company are determined to wipe the smirk off Israel's face; at least they see the smirk because they, at some level, understand that Israel is superior to their own version of heaven, which only includes luxury and opportunity for themselves.
Israel is not, as a country or culture, guilty of the crimes of which it is accused. But even if it were, those crimes are, by scale, far smaller than those of others Guterres knows well.
He just doesn't care about those, because they don't threaten his self-image. And of all the things in the world that the transnational elite care about, they care about that the most.
