If you think that Graham Platner's ability to survive the daily scandals that plague his campaign proves that absolutely nothing could possibly derail his campaign, you would actually be wrong.
It turns out that, according to a Platner supporter who purports to love him, there actually IS a limit to what she would tolerate from the Man With the Nazi Tattoo.

It doesn't get clearer than that, does it?
Wearing a symbol lionizing the SS concentration camp guards who ushered six million Jews into the gas chambers just shows that the man is real and unfiltered! But if Platner supported Israel, the place to which the survivors of the Holocaust had to flee would prove that he is a genocidal maniac.

The recent revelations about Platner's abusive behavior towards women seem to have had an impact on plenty of Maine voters, who appear to be souring on him, but the same is not the case with the Bolshevik wing of the Democratic Party/Democratic Socialists of America, who see his behavior as that of the authentic working class.

More than that, his followers seem to thrill at his increasingly open authoritarianism, and think that his abusing his girlfriend by grabbing her, restraining her, and locking her in a room is charming proof that his heart is in the right place; they just hope he does the same to Republicans, and cheer him on when he says he would.

Part of Platner's charm for the Democrats and NeverTrumpers who flocked to him is the fact that he plays right into their fantasy of what a working-class liberal SHOULD look like, just as Tim Walz was supposed to be able to code-talk White Man-speak. His persona was carefully crafted by the Morris Katz/David Axelrod Left to do so, and the fact that The Narrative™ and reality don't match is what makes him perfect in their eyes.

It has been decades since a Democrat power broker spent any time around actual working-class people; they are as familiar with them as Karl Marx was, and just as right about what appeals to them. And since Democrats are not bound by reality themselves, they are free to construct it to match their priors. Whether that works in general elections is an open question, of course, but it surely works for the base.

As far as I can tell, the only honest thing about Graham Platner was his Nazi tattoo and his Reddit posts, which reveal that he made the not-so-long ideological journey from Nazism to Communism. In his youth, he allied himself with one genocidal antisemitic ideology, and switched to a different genocidal antisemitic ideology because there were more of them to train in revolutionary violence.

His parents begged him not to go into the military, but he did because he said he had always wanted to kill people. He never had to work a steady job because he always had a family to rely on.
Most working class men do not receive $200,000 from their families for homes. If most of the people that you know do, you are not familiar with working class people. You are familiar with upper middle class and wealthy people.
He gets $60,000 in tax-free income from the military and then his wife gets paid from from the oyster business and the campaign because he can’t be paid or it would mess with his disability.
Most men are not sexting with other women, which is adultery, when they’ve only been married for three years. Particularly Sexting with dozens of women. Most normal couples don’t need three therapists within the first three years of their “happy” marriage.
Also, his oyster business is brand new and his only customer is his mother. This is not the experience of most people. Most men and women who serve in combat come home and go to college and then get jobs.
Every aspect of his campaign biography is a lie, and pretty much everybody who supports him knows that at some level. What they like about him is the raw hatred he spews and his promises to be as authoritarian as possible against their shared enemies, who are the Jews and Republicans.

Platner is promising what every communist promises: elimination of the elites and the kulaks so the "real" people can be free. A "different" kind of freedom, of course. One where some animals are more equal than others, of course. And this is what the Bolshevik Democrats want.

The organized crime Democrats are a bit scared of Platner, with good reason. They have a nice grift going, bringing in billions of dollars a year. They don't want a revolution, or at least a real one. They believed that the DSA/Bolsheviks would be their Brownshirt allies keeping the normies in line, only to find out that their heads are on the chopping block as well.
They should have read history. Start with 1789. Or the Russian Revolution. Or Mao. Handing the ball to the revolutionaries is everywhere and always a mistake.
