Conservatives have, somewhat rightly, patted ourselves on the back for our (I fear temporary) victories against the woke mob.
But the progress we have made is very fragile, and the Democrats are confident they can retake the ground they lost and are refusing to reverse any of the policies they are required to by law. DEI departments have changed their names, not their policies. Blue states are still passing blatantly unconstitutional gun and gender laws. Governors and legislatures are fighting just as hard against the federal government on immigration issues, again passing laws that will not survive Constitutional muster, and they show no sign of reading the room on these issues.

They spent more time making speeches about a resolution to declare “Cinco de Mayo Week” in California, which is hilariously stupid on so many levels, than they spent voting for puberty blockers, opposite-sex hormones, and surgeries for kids.
The Free Beacon has a great story about how Penn State's law school is implementing a school-wide antiracism initiative that is so obviously unconstitutional and in violation of federal guidelines that it is breathtaking.

But they are doing so because they believe they can wait out the Trump administration and pack the Supreme Court, as they have promised to do in 2029 if they win.

Antisemitism is on the rise, and moderate Democrats like John Fetterman are being driven out of the party. Not only is antisemitism a litmus test in the Democratic Party, but socialism is becoming one as well.

As far as I can tell, there is no issue where the Democrats have moderated after their massive loss in 2024, which they see as an aberration that can be corrected by the backlash against Trump. They also expect to be able to change the rules before the next redistricting to ensure that the Democratic Party's power is ensured, and that their radical agenda will become the law of the land.

Democrats still control many of the levers of cultural power and are unafraid to use them. Generally, it takes years for legal cases to make it through the system, and their strategy is to drag out challenges to their illegal moves until they can control the outcome.

UO's alert system was designed for active shooters or any other urgent matter, not for countering federal ICE operations.
11 student organizations formed an anti-ICE coalition and pressured President John Scholz to use the app for protecting illegals, or foreign students with visas, involved in criminality.
At a practical level, the changes have taken place in a few Red states. That is progress, of course. But we shouldn't underestimate the radicalism of Democrats and their willingness to use any lever of power to push the same agenda we saw under Biden.
