The 'I Hate America' Immigrants Must Go

You know what flag you don't see at a left-wing protest?

Of course you do. You never see an American flag, except if it is carried upside down, the sign of distress.

You often see the flags of other countries. Or of terrorist groups. Even the flags of countries with which we are at war. During the anti-ICE protests the prevalence of foreign flags was so noticeable that some liberals tried to convince protesters to wave American flags, since it was a bad look to have so many people demanding to stay in America when their allegiance was to some other country or cause.

It didn't work, and for a simple reason. The people protesting hate America, and they are only here to pillage the country.

You may have noticed that a huge proportion of our welfare and our welfare fraud goes to immigrants, who see the United States as a country full of suckers who deserve to be bilked. Many of them are happy to brag about it, just as they are happy to say their loyalties are not to our country.

Ilhan Omar, a US Congresswoman, has said her primary allegiance is to Somalia. It's now commonplace for both US liberals and illegal immigrants to talk about decolonizing the US and replacing white people.

It's become a real thing to have immigrants and their supporters flat-out say that immigrants shouldn't have to integrate into the country. They have their own culture, and who are Americans to expect them to blend into the larger culture? America is for everybody, right?

America, they believe, is an oppressor culture, and everybody deserves reparations. We are colonialists, and should be forced to tear down our institutions, which are "systemically racist" and "colonialist," and bow down to our new overlords. One can reach the heights of our elites and still claim victimhood.

Of course, all these people flocked here, and most were welcomed as long as they obeyed the law, but that doesn't matter a whit. We open our doors to those who come here legally, and they (not all, of course) feel free to spit in our faces.

We are often told that immigrants are the least likely to commit crimes and the most likely to be patriotic. But that is only partially true. I have met many immigrants who come here to experience the American Dream and who are grateful for the opportunity and the welcome.

But there is a large class of illegal immigrants who are here to exploit us, and plenty of legal immigrants who see us as chumps to be taken advantage of.

Our universities host immigrant professors whose main line of teaching is aimed at undermining the United States, and they are quite open about it. A few have lost jobs after openly calling for murder or applauding terrorism, but many more have not. It is "academic freedom," which is only half true. The university may tolerate this, but US citizens need not.

The most worrisome immigrant group is the Muslims, not because all Muslims are bad, but because so many of them have enmity toward the United States and our culture. Some are quite open about it, many are more circumspect. Neither is acceptable.

We have no responsibility to be chumps, and our leaders have no right to demand it of us. We have to tolerate it when US citizens express these views, but no law says we must when immigrants do. In many cases, you can even denaturalize people who have demonstrated their enmity to the country.

Hostility to American culture is pretty much the brand for liberals these days. They open every meeting with expressions of sorrow that America exists as it does, and agitate to tear down statues of American heroes, such as Thomas Jefferson.

Which is one of the many reasons why I and many other conservatives loathe liberals today. They can hate America, but that is just proof that they have no business being anywhere near government.

I do believe that immigrants have been a key to America's vitality, and I certainly welcome the infusion of new ideas, art, and cuisine into the United States. But part of the deal is that you assimilate. That doesn't mean eating casseroles and attending church, but it does mean we can expect patriotism, learning English, following the laws, and being trustworthy.

Those should be minimums. Certainly, coming here to tear down the system is reason to expel somebody we welcomed here. Contrary to Shadi Hamid's argument in the Washington Post, America is not for everybody. It is for Americans and those who are welcomed in with the expectation that they embrace our basic civic values.
