Yes, their 1988 smash "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)" is now lodged in your head for the rest of the day.
The band is still going strong, and they have plenty to say. The duo's new outspoken album, "You May Offend," is available now. That title isn't accidental. The band isn't keen on Cancel Culture, and while that stance is a tad late given all we've collectively gone through, it's still welcome given that Woke 2 is waiting on deck.
The band members — Craig and Charlie Reid — may be ready to offend, but they hold all the "accepted" opinions, according to a new chat with The Telegraph UK.

Yawn. But fine. At least they're not penning odes to Renee Good like certain Irish rockers. That's worse than merely a yawn. Nor are they interrupting concerts to lecture the crowd about Israel, a la Macklemore.
Yet The Proclaimers do hold some views that don't mirror the pop mainstream. Call it a benefit of age — the brothers are now in their 60s — but the duo has had enough of the radical trans movement.
Want to dress up like the opposite sex? Fine. Good. Have at it, they say. But that's where it should stop, they argue.
Craig Reid calls legislation allowing trans male prisoners shacking up with women in prison "unforgivable."
There’s women, actual women, who are threatened with violence – sometimes get violence – and de-platformed because they have the temerity to say that a woman is an adult human female ... and they are shouted down by 0.5 per cent in a population who are male and who think that because they put on a dress, and they put on make-up, that that makes them a female.
That alone is enough for the band to get the J.K. Rowling's treatment. The "Harry Potter" author gently defied elements of the trans agenda in 2020, and she's been paying the price ever since.
Death threats. Cancellations. Hit pieces in the press.
These gentlemen say they're ready to face the blowback, if only because we should be able to disagree with one another and not set off Cancel Culture campaigns.
Charlie Reid even slagged the "Harry Potter" actors who turned on Rowling, the woman who gave them careers and immense wealth, for her sin of disagreeing with their extreme pro-trans thoughts.
Craig Reid calls the trans movement, and its supporters "truth phobic." And he's not ashamed to call out his fellow liberals.
I think it’s the Left losing their collective mind. JK Rowling: I think she was absolutely wrong on Scottish independence and has been proved wrong. But I think she’s absolutely right on women’s rights. You can agree with some people on almost everything, and you can agree with other people on maybe one or two subjects. But it doesn’t mean [you agree with everything].
Now, that's a punk sentiment, coming from a band that always looked like two geeks who accidentally became pop stars.
