She's ba-ack!
No, Rosie O'Donnell hasn't officially returned to her homeland. The far-far-Left comic fled to Ireland after President Donald Trump's 2024 victory. And, while she still lives there, she keeps popping up on both American soil and national TV shows and podcasts.
She just can't quit the U.S.
The former Queen of Nice is set to return to "The View" this Fall as part of the show's 30 anniversary special. There's no official date yet, but O'Donnell, 64, announced she'll happily appear along with other show regulars and ex-guests.

Here's betting Meghan McCain, the most prominent and powerful Republican voice in the show's history, will be busy that day.
No matter. We're getting the "View" gang back together again. The bigger question is obvious. Why not make O'Donnell's return more than a one-and-done affair? She deserves to be part of the show full-time once more.
She did serve in that capacity - twice. Her first tenure on the show ended in 2007 and, after returning several years later, exited for the second time in 2015. Her "View" tours of duty landed differently back then.
The friction she brought felt raw and occasionally ugly. She sparred with fellow co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck early and often, their political divide causing the chaos during her first "View" stint. The two got along famously off-camera, allegedly, but O'Donnell kept getting hurt by Hasselbeck's on-air critiques.
No matter. That version of the "The View" wasn't high-brow television, but it didn't make your teeth hurt like the 2026 model.
Plus, the current "View" has sunk to O'Donnell's level in recent years. Whatever coherency once existed on the show is now long gone. This "View" is awash in crazed conspiracies, misinformation and rage against the Right.
All of the above describe O'Donnell to a T.
After all, she thinks the 2024 assassination attempt on President Trump was a set-up. That's hardly the sole outlandish claim from the erstwhile comedienne.

Those unhinged views would fit right into "The View" today. And, if the show has little interest in facts and context, why not go the Full Rosie ...with the real deal leading the way?
Yes, ABC would have to lure O'Donnell back to the States, but a little smooth talking (and lots of zeroes) should do the trick.
"The View" is a televised car crash, a disaster that unfolds five days a week. O'Donnell and her Trump Derangement Syndrome are a perfect fit.
It wouldn't last, of course. The combustible comic might not stick around for long. "The View" works best today for hate-watching purposes.
On that front, O'Donnell is the ideal addition.
