Jimmy Kimmel deserves some credit.
Every summer, he packs up his Orange Man Bad jokes and jets off to parts unknown. That means we get a few weeks without the far-Left monologues that make "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" so insufferable, right?
Wrong.
The annual Kimmel vacation is here once more, meaning a gaggle of far-Left guest hosts are filling in for the former funnyman. So far, we've endured Tiffany Haddish and comic actor Ike Barinholtz subbing for the teary-eyed one. Coming soon: The woman with the worst case of Trump Derangement Syndrome, Rosie O'Donnell.
Yes, it can get even worse. The current hosts are awful all by themselves, though.
As expected, Haddish used her late-night time to mock President Donald Trump. She must have left her trove of Graham Platner bits back home, maybe under the sofa. Either way, her generic Trump rants got the attention of AOL.com, Entertainment Weekly, People magazine and more. Guess they haven't learned the age-old journalism saw that a "dog bites man" event isn't a news story.
Haddish played the Victim Card, gleefully noting how her barbs got the White House's attention. Of course, the White House only responded to her jokes when a totally unbiased journalist asked a spokesperson about them.
The news cycle seems pretty busy to us, what with the Iran war on the front burner anew. Manufacturing news that fits a specific agenda is something the Legacy Media does oh, so well.
The White House's response to Kimmel's guest host? Who's Tiffany Haddish? It's a good question, because her once-rising career has cooled considerably. Sadly, the actress turned far-Left guest host took that slight as a badge of honor.
Who am I? Huh, huh? I'm the b**** you walk past to get to your coach seat, mother****er. Who am I? I'm a Sports Illustrated swimsuit model, that's who I am. Who am I?
The sound you hear is Johnny Carson spinning like a top in his grave. Steve Allen, too. Somewhere, Jay Leno is wondering about a late-night comeback.
Not to be outdone, the second guest host chose to weaponize a high-profile GOP death to curry favor with Kimmel's fan base. Sadly, it probably worked.
Barinholtz ("The Oath") took full advantage of Sen. Lindsay Graham's sudden passing as well as another GOP star's grave illness.
In all seriousness, though, I do want to extend well wishes to Senator McConnell. I hope you get the quality health care you've fought so hard to deny everyone else, so thank you. Pulling for you, Mitch.
Has Barinholtz noted how health insurance rates have soared since ObamaCare became the law of the land? Guessing the answer is a firm "no."
The comic actor then pivoted to Graham's passing, because that's comedy gold, too, if you lack any sense of decency.
What a weekend. What a crazy weekend. Mitch McConnell is alive. Lindsey Graham is dead. There’s so many opportunities to get Jimmy's show pulled off the air again. They’re gonna to pull it off!
That would be a mercy kill, technically speaking.
If Kimmel's summer strategy was to make us miss his brand of cruel, laugh-free humor, it's working like a charm.
