Why These Three Projects Should Scare Hollywood Silly

Many consumers use the term "Mary Sue" as an insult, even if Hollywood hasn't gotten the message.

A Mary Sue character is a know-it-all heroine who doesn't take kindly to "mansplaining" and can whoop men three times their size. Maybe four. It's a new but exhausting trope we'd like to see go the way of the pager and fax machine.

Creator Josh Daws is trying to make that a reality.

His new 90-second animated clip, "The Continuing Adventures of Mary Sue," pokes fun at the trend with a huge boost from A.I. Daws used that high-tech tool to make the short possible, and within a few days it generated a half million views on X.

It's a clip that Hollywood, Inc. would never make. And, even those who loathe A.I. art (which is understandable) may appreciate the humor and message.

And it's hardly alone. Other artists are defying the entertainment industry's progressive groupthink, sharing stories you won't find from any major studio.

That's what critical whipping boy Uwe Boll just did. The German director is renowned for  "Rampage," "Postal" and "Alone in the Dark," films that left critics cold. (That's being kind).

His new film, "Citizen Vigilante," casts Armie Hammer as an American fighting back against violent European immigrants in a ripped-from-the-headlines tale. He's the judge, jury and executioner, thank you.

Boll's limited skills are on display, but the film's message can't be ignored. This story needed to be told, so society can understand what's happening via soft-on-crime leaders and misleading news outlets. It won't be told in Germany, though. The director's home country banned the film for allegedly promoting vigilante violence.

And Elon Musk just gave "Citizen Vigilante" a big boost. The film can currently be seen on his X platform for free.

Now, the message will be shared far and wide.

A third project won't arrive until Fall, but it, too, represents a narrative audiences need to hear. The Daily Wire is prepping a spiritual sequel, of sorts, to its 2020 film "Run Hide Fight." That movie showed a brave teen (Isabel May) fighting back during a school shooting.

The new film, "Run Hide Fight: Infidels," follows a woke university overrun by Islamic radicals. It's up to a scrappy band of "Red Dawn"-like students, among others, to fight back.

The teaser trailer evokes Islamic terrorism, the growing wave of far-Left Democrats and campus-based antisemitism. All three themes are anathema to Hollywood, but The Daily Wire doesn't play by that industry's rules.

"Infidels" may be a DailyWire+ exclusive, but the film will still circulate in the public and, who knows, Elon Musk might give this one a push just like he did with "What Is a Woman?" three years ago.

Either way, the new media landscape means more voices, not less, in the entertainment space. And it's long overdue.
